Although there has not been much visible development on this site for a while now the concept of Synusia network has been developing and I still think there is a place for this kind of a site.
We recenty started a new project (nuemo) with a colleague of mine and I got the opportunity to explore the possibilities of this site in practice.
First of all, many components in our project idea are a result of combining and refining the ideas that have come up before, on this site and in the many discussions we had with people that didn't end up as posts here. This reinforces my belief that openly sharing and discussing ideas ampifies the innovation process.
Some of you maybe noticed that there are now "invitation only" groups and some of the ideas are not made public, like the Nuemo project. Isn't this contradicting the idea of open innovation? Yes and no. The decision is not so much about protecting ideas as it is about building the community by rewarding active contributors with early access to information.
Plans on restructuring the site are on the table. Some of the issues addressed are making the site more user-centric and localization. On functional side the direction is towards concept design and project setup. The aim is not just to come up with new ideas but to set up projects to make these ideas reality.
